Allen W. Byron, Sr. 62, of Edison, NJ entered into eternal rest on February 10, 2012 after a brief illness at Robert Wood JohnsonRahway Hospital. Mr. Byron was born in Elizabeth, NJ, and graduated from Linden High School in 1967; he continued his education in New York, where he studied computers. He was employed by Alexian Brothers Hospital and United County Bankboth in Elizabeth, NJ and later at the Newark Housing Authority (NHA) as a Supervising Computer Operator for 27 years, where he retired. Upon retirement, Mr. Byron became the Secretary-Treasurer/Business Manager of the OPEIU Local 32 and was appointed Vice President of the NJ State AFL-CIO. Mr. Byron was kind, friendly and good-hearted and was a former member of the New Hope Baptist Church, Elizabeth, NJ. He was known by his family/friends as the "MAC". Mr. Byron was predeceased in death by his brotherWilliam Glover. Surviving are his wife April Byron; His children: Karen Glover; Sharon Myers (Albert); Chico Byron; David Byron; Joseph Byron; Brandon Byron; Aaron Byron; Allen Byron Jr.; Adam Byron; Carmen Aldarondo (daughter from extended family); seven Grandsons, two Granddaughters; A Loving and Very Special Friend: Ann Stover; daughter Shanieah Fields; son Marquise Stover and Grandson Kaiden Kanadou; His Mother: Deacon Elizabeth Glover; Father, Edmond Ligon; Brothers: Rev. James Byron; Edward Glover (Dena); Lawrence Blanchard; Arthur Mathews (Barbara) and Glenn Cummings; Sister: Sharon Lawson; Godmother Mary Jones and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
