Obituary To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven Ecc. 3:1 A Time to Be Born Arlena Serles Jenkins was born October 6, 1940 in Montgomery, Alabama to Aaron and Bessie Mae Serles. A Time to Learn She attended the Jersey City Public Schools. A Time to Love She met and married Willie James Jenkins on Sept. 4, 1964 and out of this union, they had one child. A Time to Work She worked for several of the laundries in Jersey City and Union City; then she went to work for Meadowview Hospital. Time for Eternal Rest Arlena Serles Jenkins entered into eternal rest on January 30, 2012 at the Hamilton Park Nursing Home at 1:10 p.m. She is predeceased by her husband, parents, two children, son Kevin Serles, daughter Charlene Perry, and grandson Adam Serles. She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories: one daughter Gloria Craddock; two sons, John Watkins, and Jerome Jenkins; three daughters-in-law Olivia Watkins, Theresa Jenkins, and Carol Serles- four brothers: Willie, John, Sylvester and Joshua Serles all from Jersey City; 5 sisters Quennie Fitzgerald, Emma Keys, Jersey City, Theresa Harrison (Ival) Hillside, Patricia Miller, Detroit and Renee Carter (Curtis), Jersey City and special friend Rosa Jones from Maplewood: 15 grandchildren: Sharief, Walter, Cedric, Iesha , Reginald, Arlena, Tempest, Schnelle, Rafael, Jamal, Janiqua, Quanasha, Jaron, Amanda and 21 great-grandchildren. A special aunt, Ann Hope and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends. Arlena had two favorite sayings: TRUST ME and BAM BAM Bigelow Acknowledgements The family would like to "Thank All" for the many expressions of sympathy that was extended to us during our time of bereavement.
