Barbara Jean , as she was known to her friends, was a dedicated employee of the Jersey City Public Schools for over 25 years. She was a proud and active member of the NJEA. Her students both loved and admired her. Although born in Jersey City, Barbara was raised in North Carolina. Her family and friends were foremost in her life. She had an eclectic taste in music and would often be seen carrying her backgammon game. Although she had a Master's Degree, Barbara was down to earth. Her daughter Asanté was the light of her life. Lester, her husband for 50 years, was her lifelong companion. Barbara lived an exemplary life which still inspires those fortunate enough to have had the privilege of knowing her. Beloved wife of Leslie B. Adler.  Loving Mother of Asante' Regina Adler.  Daughter of the late Mary Lee Jackson.  Cherished Sister of Mary Larue Jackson, Marilyn (Herbert Eugene ) Jackson Streeter, Dora Jean Walker McGhee, Patrick Walker , Lillian Bordeaux and the late Willie and Verna Jackson.  Also survived by a host of Nieces, Nephews , Cousins and many other Relatives and Friends.
