It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Benjamin (Benny) Bisonga Makori, who departed this life on February 27, 2026, at the age of 52. His passing comes only a few months after the loss of his father, and has been a difficult blow to his family and friends.

Ben was the beloved son of Mary Angwenyi, and the late Zebedeo Angwenyi Makori. He was a proud father to his son, Andre. Brother to Donald, Cecilia and the late Emmanuel. Brother-in-law to Melissa, and uncle to Simon, Justin, Maia, Malakai, ⁠Gabriella, ⁠Abigail, ⁠Vera, ⁠Mabel, Isaiah and Senna. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins who all loved him dearly.

As the eldest sibling, Ben played an important role in the family and had a lasting influence on those who looked up to him. He carried forward many of the values inherited from his father. He was a kind soul, generous, and always ready to step forward when most needed. But what most people will remember is his joy. Ben had a gift for making people laugh and a way of making everyone around him feel good. He had a deep love and appreciation for music and sports. He was the type of person who filled a room without trying.

Though his time with us was cut short, the memories he gave us and the influence he had will remain with those who knew him. His presence, his voice, and the role he played in our lives will always be remembered. He will forever be in our hearts.

A gathering to celebrate Ben's life will be held with family and friends, where we will remember him and the many ways he touched people's lives.
