Bernice Lawrence departed on Tuesday December 15, 2009 at the Jersey City Medical Center. She had been a member of the Claremont Lafayette United Presbyterian Church for at least 20 years and she belonged to Season Retiree and the Ladies Aide Auxillary. Devoted mother of Mark (Tina) Lawrence, David (Judith) Lawrence, Janice (Bernard) Hare, Cheryl Lawrence Hayes and the late Phillip Lawrence. Loving Grandmother of Bobby Hare, Larisa (Ronnie)Dawkins, Toi MacArthur, Cheryl(Terrell)Harkness, Jemayel David Lawrence, Chad Simmons, Zhane Hayes, Philip Hayes. Gr.Grandmother of 8. Daughter of the late William and Alberta Statham. Dear sister of Arcola Jamison, Josephine Statham, Gloria Harrison, Lorraince O'Neal, Yvonne(William)Lee, Gladys(Harvey)Thomas and the late William Statham, Rilley Statham, Ella Mae Hobson and Margaret Dickson. Daughters in Christ Mary Lawrence Daniels and Karen Lawrence. Also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
