Calvin McKnight Jr. passed away on Saturday August 8, 2009 at Christ Hospital. Calvin was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on February 25, 1947, the son of Maggie Bulle McKnight and Calvin McKnight, Sr. and has remained a lifelong resident. Calvin attended Public School #12 and completed his education at Lincoln High School in Jersey City. Calvin became a dedicated employee with Shoprite where he remained for over twenty-eight years. He was a Frozen Food Manager at Shop-Rite. Calvin soon met and was united in Holy Matrimony to Irene Virginia (Benbow) McKnight. This union was blessed with two lovely daughters Yolanda McKnight and Adrienne McKnight. Calvin valued family time. In his healthier years he loved spending time outside the home with his family. He could be found in the park, at the circus or the arcade. Nothing mattered more than his wife and children. He always put their needs before his own. He leaves to mourn his passing: his loving wife of thirty-nine years Irene, two daughters Yolanda and Adrienne, five grandchildren, Courtland, Glenn, Lisa, Rebecca and Joshua. One godson ShiQuan Mack and one goddaughter Alexis McCeary. Two brothers, Eugene and Charles McKnight. Three aunts Serena Bulle, Ester Mae Robinson and Ruth McKnight.
