Carmeta Docella Coles-Jackson, age 95, a lifelong resident of Jersey City passed away peacefully on February 4, 2015 at the Jersey City Medical Center. Carmeta was a product of the Jersey City Public School System graduating from P.S. #14 and Lincoln High School. She obtained employment at the MOTBY in Bayonne and retired after 37 years of dedicated service. She was the last surviving signing member of the charter for Calvary CME Church in Jersey City and attended the church faithfully holding different positions within the church and singing in the choir. Carmeta was predeceased by her husband James D. Jackson, her parents, Augusta E. and Christopher D. Coles Sr.; sisters, Costella D. Coles-Foster, Constance D. Coles, Audrey E. Hart, Charnette D. Coles, and a nephew Lamont L. Johnson. Leaves to cherish her memory; her brother, Christopher D. Coles Jr.; nephews Donald M. Johnson, Clyde J. Hart, Jr. Esq. (Lauralee), Calvin E. Hart (Linda), Christopher D. Coles III, niece Ashleigh Coles, caretaker Teresa Allen and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
