Catherine departed from this life on April 14, 2015 in the St. Barnabas hospital. Catherine was a fun loving devoted mother, sister, and grandmother. She lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was very active in the Elk's of NJ. She was a devoted church mother of Monumental Baptist Church for more than 25 years. She loved her church. Catherine's health began to fail her in November of 2012, at the age of 86. However, in 2013 she was able to return back to church and care for herself. She was a very strong and determined woman and sickness was not going to keep her down. With her children's support, she was able to care for herself a short period of time. In November of 2014 her health failed again and she was not able to return back home again, she needed 24 hour care. She leaves to cherish her memory: three children, Laura Porter, James and Howard Dorsey, two sisters, Carrie Jackson - from Connecticut and Physilia Snow - from South Carolina, two brothers, Clarence Nesmith - from South Carolina, and Tommie Nesmith - from New Jersey. One son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, 13 grandchildren and a host of great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
