Deacon Joseph Turner World War II Veteran, devoted to God, church and family. On October 11. 2015, Deacon Joseph Turner of Jersey City went home to be with the Lord. He was 98 years old. Deacon Turner was born in Harrison, Georgia. The eldest son and second born of the late Claudie Lee and Beulah Turner; Deacon Turner lived to see the home going of all but one of his eight siblings. His loving wife, Elizabeth (nee Wilson), was by his side for sixty years until her death. Deacon Turner touched the lives of so many. He will be dearly missed by his lone surviving and loving sister, Naomi Ward of Atlanta Georgia, devoted nephews, John and Nathaniel Johnson, and niece Eunice Johnson-Gordon, who were like his very own sons and daughter. He leaves to mourn numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-laws and friends. This Online Memorial has been created to commemorate the life of Deacon Joseph Turner.
