Jeanette Loretta Smith, a loving wife, daughter, sister, stepmother, aunt, cousin and friend, passed away on Thursday February 17, 2011, after 76 years of living a beautiful life on this Earth. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Jeanette was born on January 23, 1935 in Prince Edward County, VA. She graduated from Robert R. Morton High School. In her early 20's Jeanette moved with her family to Jersey City, NJ where she resided until her passing. Upon moving to New Jersey, Jeanette began her career at AT&T, where she worked until retirement. She was happily married for over 30 years to the love of her life, the late Charles Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters; Lillian Wood and Margaret Hill of Jersey City; five sisters-in-law, Elsie Smith, Ada Johnson, Lillian Johnson, Verline Johnson, and Dorothy Johnson; two brothers-in-law, John Smith and James Donigan; one aunt, Louvenia Summon; seven stepchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Fannie Johnson, her loving husband, Charles Smith, two stepchildren, and nine siblings, Eugene, Mary, Henry, Bernice, Percy, Odessa, Larry, Calvin, and Kemper David.
