Gilbert Keyes passed away on Monday July 25, 2011 at Christ Hospital, Jersey City, New Jersey. Mr. Gilbert was a lifelong resident of Jersey City, NJ. He was the beloved husband of Josephine Keyes; dear father of Gilbert Jr., Emmette, Deman, and Leann Keyes; son of (the late) George and Princetta Keys; brother of George Keys, Jimmie Keys, Sandra Bryant, Wanda Jones, Gwendolyn Powell, and (the late) Willie Larkins, Larry, and James Edward Keys; step-father of Elena Dowdell; special friend of Horace Haigler; caring grandfather of 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
