Former Police Detective, Harold "Tip" Jackson, 62, of Jersey City, NJ passed on to be with the Lord Saturday June 12, 2010. Harold was born to the late Harold "Pidgie" Jackson and Frances Jackson. He is survived by wife of 38 years, Sheila Jackson; five children Tawana Tucker, Charisse Jackson, Lisa Jackson, Harold Jackson Jr. and Tia Jackson; one son-in-law, Donald Tucker; four grand-children Dexter Parmalee, Brianna Dickey, Mytaya Jackson and Quinton Jackson. Six siblings Shiela M. Jackson, Marsha Jackson Gaines, the late Pearl Jackson, Kevin Jackson, Rochelle Edwards and Lisa Moore; six brothers-in-law Stanley Gaines, Franklin Walker, Cornelius Walker, George Walker, Johnny Edwards and Jimmy Forbes; 12 nephews, 15 nieces and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews. He was a strong, determined man who worked tirelessly to provide for his wife, children and family. He truly was a jack-of-all trades maintaining jobs such as watermelon peddler, construction worker, telephone repairman, and firefighter to name a few. Harold eventually accepted his call to be a Jersey City Police Officer and subsequent Narcotics Detective. Though the work was strenuous and very demanding, he enjoyed it.
