Henry David Bryant, Sr. was born on August 29, 1922 in Jersey City, N.J. to the late Elsie and Henry Bryant. After years of struggling with failing health Henry was called home to rest on Friday January 1, 2010 at 11:37 AM at the Jersey City Medical Center. Henry attended Jersey City Public Schools and joined the United States Navy and was honorably discharged with medical leave. Thereafter, Henry began a life long career as a Long Distance Truck Driver. He later retired from Langer Trucking Company. During this time Henry married Ella Williams-Bryant and to this union 19 children were born. Henry shared a special bond with one of his oldest grandsons whom Henry affectionately called "Boodie" to the family. Boodie always made time to visit his grandfather even after he left the State of New Jersey. In his leisure time he and his grandfather would reminisce via telephone. Boodie's heart grew very heavy worrying about the health, so during his recent visit to Jersey City he was elated to see his grandfather, not knowing it would be the last time until they meet again. Henry is preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Ella, children; Henry Bryant Jr., Linda Gibson and Steven Bryant, two sisters Nora Owens and Charlotte Childs. Henry leaves 15 children to cherish his memories including his devoted daughter Sheila Mosby, Dwayne Bryant, Ella Mae Robinson, Gregory Bryant, Kirk Bryant, Dorothy Bryant, Aneesah Abdullah, Jeffery Bryant, Sandra Bryant, Charmaine Hemingway, Tanya Taylor, Yvette Bryant, Troy Bryant, Adam Bryant and Asheya Williams; Daughters-in-law Carol, Sandra and Irene Bryant, Sons in-law the Late Donald Mosby Sr. and Juan Hemingway, Hassan Abdullah, Kevin Robinson and David Taylor; (69) Grandchildren, (101) Great Grandchildren and (10) Great Great Grandchildren.
