John Lewis Brewer, Jr. departed this lifes journey when the Lord called him home on Saturday, March 24th, 2018. There is a great sorrow in the earth because of this loss, but there is a Greater Celebration in the Kingdom because of this angel that was gained! Daddy, your laughter, your comedic ways, love and conversations will truly be missed! BEFORE you there was NO other and AFTER you there will be NO more! John was born on July 5th, 1963 in Neptune, NJ to the late John Lewis Brewer, Sr. and Gladys Russell. John was educated in the Sacred Heart Catholic School System and Snyder/Lincoln High School. He was a member of Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Sciences and was elected to the Pennsylvania Alpha Lambda graduate chapter located at Lincoln University. John received his Masters in Human Services from the prestigious Lincoln University. He was a licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor and was employed at the Rescue Mission in Trenton, NJ. John childhood name was, "Pop", everyone knew him as that. "Pop" was a provider for his family and it was nothing he wouldnt do to provide for us. On, "Pop" spare time after working a full-time job, he would collect scrap metal, and sell goods such as bubbles, socks, coats, handbags, etc. He, knew how to flip a dollar. John was committed to family, making sure that all would achieve their highest potential. He had such ambition and he was a BOSS!!! John had a heart of gold, a true servant of the Lord that was expressed through his ministry (which he began in the early 1990s). He uplifted and touched the hearts and souls of many. Johns pure worship and praise was normal throughout his journey. He was giant in stature but had a gentle heart. In October of 1985, John met the love of his life Sonia and it was love at first sight. Jay was the love of Sonias life too. When they met, he made her feel beautiful. He told her that he wanted her to be his wife. In December of that same year, he asked her for her hand in marriage. He was a gentle man, with so much style, full of respect, love and care. He believed in the Lord. They wedded on November 22nd, 1986 and shared 31 years of God-ordained, loyal, dedicated, and grace-filled marriage. It was based on mutual support and a deep love for each other. I know were just passing through this earthly home - but nothing said home like the arms of her husband.
