Lela Mae Walton of Jersey City passed away on Thursday February 25, 2010 in Bayonne. Born in Georgia, she spent most of her life in Jersey City. She was very active in Clair Memorial United Methodist Church of Jersey City, where she served as an usher, church clerk, and choir member and was affiliated with the nurse's unit, and was a Deaconess. She leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted husband, Deacon James E. Walton, a special and devoted daughter, Dellene W. Hodge, sons Kenneth, Malachi, George and the late Kevin Walton. She is the daughter of the late James and Della Smith. Loving sister of James Smith Jr. (Rev. Dolores Smith) and Evelyn Terry. Grandmother of Kim, George Jr., Timothy, Kevaan, Tonielle, Bernard, Britni, Briahn and Shaynia Walton and Antonique Hodge. Mother-in-law of Theresa, Danielle (Kenneth) and Anisha Walton.
