Leonora Terry (nee Jackson) was born on March 28, 1918 to Arthur and Alma Jackson in DeSoto, Georgia. Leonora peacefully passed away Tuesday April 27, 2010 surrounded by her devoted daughter Phyllis Terry, nieces Patricia (Tish) Jackson and Ellen (Jackson) Moss. Leonora Terry was educated in the Jersey City Public School system, furthering her education in Virginia State University in Petersburg, VA. Retiring in 1983 from AT&T after 35 years of service, she worked as a volunteer instructor for the Literacy Volunteers of America. She was also a life member of the Pioneers of America and a member of the Newark Museum of Arts. Surviving to cherish her memory is her devoted daughter Phyllis Terry, loving nieces Patricia Jackson, Karen Mitchell, Ellen Moss, Barbara Taylor and a host of cousins and friends.
