Maggie P. Carter (Pittman) began her life's journey on December 2, 1925 in Tarboro North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late William and Augustas and Estelle Pittman. After leaving Tarboro North Carolina in 1946 she moved to Newark NJ. It was there she met here "cellmate" (soul-mate) Lenton A. Carter and formed a union in marriage of more than 67 years. Soon after the birth of there first child the couple moved to Jersey City. Having accepted Jesus Christ at an early age Maggie became a member of Salem Baptist Church where she was a faithful member for more than 60 years. She was employed at Western Electric retiring in 1984. Maggie passed away peacefully at home on October 28, 2014 after a brief illness. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Lenton, daughter Barbara and son in law Matthew, 1 son Lenny, 2 grandsons Jermaine and Levar, I sister Estelle of Fayetteville NC and a host of relatives and friends.
