Maude Stein Smith was born July 26, 1916 in Jersey City to the late Winifred Smith and James Stevenson. She attended Public School #1 and Dickinson High School in Jersey City. Maude was strong in her faith and love of family. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and she enjoyed crossword puzzles, word search, and embroidery. On August 9, 2015 Maude made her transition to be with The Lord. She leaves to mourn her passing daughters:Judith Gaston, Evelyn Kittrell and Debra Smith, brother;Joseph Smith, sisters; Janet Terry, Winifred Hampton (John Ray) and daughter in law Brenda Boden-Smith, 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 44 great-great grandchildren and 2 great-great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Clifford Smith, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 5 grandsons, and 2 sons in law. She is also survived by a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
