Minnie Goodson (nee Wright) aged 90, of Jersey City, New Jersey peacefully departed this life on Saturday, August 31, 2019. A life-long resident of Jersey City, Minnie was employed by Maidenform, Inc. located in Bayonne, New Jersey from which she subsequently retired. Minnie was a devoted member of Zion Baptist Church in Jersey City and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Minnie is survived by her children, Esther Goodson Lawz and husband, Derek of Parlin, New Jersey, Bernadette Goodson Funchess and husband Ronald of Jersey City, New Jersey and son Kevin Goodson of Newport News, Virginia. She will be sadly missed by her ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Minnie is also survived by her sisters, Emma Ruth Wright Moore of Jersey City, Susan Wright Blue and her husband Dr. Daniel Blue of Mullins, South Carolina, Dorothy Snead and husband Willie of Desoto, Georgia and Virginia Chatman and husband Archie of Albany, Georgia. Minnies surviving brothers are K. Cecil Wright and his wife Judith of Jersey City, New Jersey, the Reverend Lem Wright and wife Marie of Smithville, Georgia, Lonnie Wright, Bajor Wright, Ronnie Wright of Desoto, Georgia and two step-brothers Jerry Carter and wife Betty of Brown Mills, New Jersey and Gene Carter and wife Constance of Miami, Florida. Also surviving Minnie are her sisters-in-law, Verda Wright and Imajean Wright of Jersey City as well as the families of Solomon King of Jersey City, New Jersey, Jerome King of Lawrenceville, Georgia and the late Henry Williams, Jr. and Harry Williams. Minnie is preceded in death by her cherished parents Eddie and Easter Wright as well as her dearly loved brothers and sisters: Eddie Wright, Jr., Arthur Wright, Johnnie Wright and Shade Wright, Willie Wright and Sonny Wright, Millie Wright George, Mary Joe Ann Byron and Ollie Williams. Minnie also leaves behind a vast extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who will miss her warm smile and loving generosity of spirit.
