Myrtis Ross (Haynes) was born on January 27, 1932 in Phoenix City, Alabama to the late Charles and Thelma Haynes (McKissick). Myrtis joined Monumental Baptist Church as a young adult under the late Rev. Dr. Ercel Webb. She was a faithful servant and member of the Gospel Chorus, Culinary Club, and Voices of Monumental Choir. Myrtis departed this life on November 20, 2015. She leaves to cherish her loving memory three sons: Larry (Beverly), Charles (Lucy), and Curtis Ross, one daughter: Patricia Jordan (Aaron), three daughter-in-law's: Beverly, Lucy, and Joanie, one son-in-law: Aaron Jordan, nine grandchildren: Erin, Kevin, Devon, Crystal, Tiffany, Brittany, Curtis, Isaac, and Dorsey, one great-grandchild: Jordan, two special cousins: Agnes Harris and Joycelyn Holmes, one loving niece: Ollie Mae Harley, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
