Obituary

Rozine "Nookie" M. Statham was employed by the United States Postal Service until her early retirement In January 1980. In her later years, she worked at Precious Moments Childcare Services as Asst. Director. The children loved her so much that they often referred to her as Grandma. Rozine was the first lady at Unto Full Statue Church of GOD in Christ and was born again and loved Jesus Christ. She was dedicated and committed to the Hospitality and Homeless Committee, Pastor Aide Committee, Bible School, and Missionary Department. Rozine was very active in civic and community affairs and was Vice President of the Armstrong Ave Block Association, where she implemented many activities for the youth. She planned and organized various educational and recreational field trips of the neighborhood. She facilitated block parties and social events for the community to enjoy. Rozine and her committee was responsible for the execution of the Youth Recreational Center that was located in the Greenville population that was outfitted with pool tables, air hockey, ping pong, pin ball machines, video games and sports activities for the youth. Rozine will always be remembered and cherished by her loving husband Pastor William Statham. Beloved mother of William Jr., Wayne, Tyrone, Wade, Stella, Dora Statham, Tammy S. Blount and (the late) Shawn Statham. Mother-in-law of Robert L. Blount Jr., Diane, Maria, and Cheryl Statham. Loving grandmother of 21 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 7PM on Tuesday July 13, 2010 at Calvary CME Church, 25 Oak Street. Jersey City, NJ. Visitation will take place from 5-6PM and wake from 6-7PM at church.
