Obituary

Stanley L. Oglesby departed this life on Thursday, August 15, 2013. He was born on January 15, 1957 to Carrie and the Late Reuben W. Oglesby in Swainsboro, GA. Stanley attended St. Boniface Catholic School. He briefly attended Lincoln High School and he later transferred to Swainsboro High School in Swainsboro, GA when his grandfather, Dewey, took ill. Upon completing his high school education, he joined the United States Army. After 4 years of service, he was honorably discharged. Affectionately known as "Stan", Stanley dedicated 16 years of service as a Chemical Technician at Honig Chemical (formerly Jarchem). Stanley was baptized at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Garfield, GA. Upon family relocation, he was an active member Grace Episcopal Church and later transferred to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. Following the closing of St. Matthew's, he joined The Church of The Incarnation. He served as a member of the Men's Choir. He recently attended Clinton Memorial A.M.E. Church in Newark, NJ. Stanley was predeceased by his father: Reuben. He leaves to mourn his memory: his loving wife- Ling Ling, his mother-Carrie; Children: Latoya Oglesby-Smith and Stephanie Oglesby-Dotson; mother in law-Liam Zhu Lu; his grandmother-Rosa Lee; his aunt- Ella Belle Prather; Brothers: Reuben and Derald; Sisters: Teresa and Angelyn Oglesby and Shira Oglesby-Beasley; Sister In Law: Gale Oglesby; Yan Yan; Yun Wei, ; Brother In Law: Samad Beasley and Guang Jin; Sons In Law: Christopher Smith and Xavier Dotson; step children: Zhewen Wang; grandchildren: Xavier, Noah, Olivia, and Zoe, as well as, a host of family, friends, and neighbors.
