Winnie Henry, lovingly known as Wendy, was born in Jersey City, N.J. to Manual and Jessie Matthews Sr. on August 7, 1950. She departed this life on March 6, 2011. Winnie attended Jersey City Public Schools, graduating from P.S. 14 and Lincoln High School. She worked over 38 years as a Merchandising Clerk for Unimark, Century 21 and Macys. Winnie is preceded in death by her parents Jessie and Manuel Matthews, Sr.and her sister Lillie Mae Broughton. Winnie leaves to cherish her memory two children Shanel Henry-Wright(Alonzo) and Darrin A. Henry(Angela Rouse); step-children Shamone Jones(Tassanee) and Angela Beals(Chris); grandchildren Alonzo C. Wright Jr. and Jayla C. Wright and nine step-grandchildren; godchildren Lena Scott and Ramon Galloway; brothers Jerome(Jennifer), Arnold(Judy), Robert(Gail), Manuel Jr.(Tierney) and Glen(Cynthia) Matthews; sisters Annie Baskerville, Hazel Lattimer, Gayle Matthews, Cathy Baggett(George) and Nancy Matthews; brother-in-law Samuel Broughton.
