Remembering a Legacy
John Henry Watson of Jersey City, NJ (formerly of Philadelphia, PA) made his transition on Sunday, November 14, 2021. Mr. Watson was the owner of Watson Mortuary Service, Inc. since 1994. He was a United States Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam War and was awarded a Double Purple Heart...After 20 years of service to his country, John moved to Jersey City, N.J.
He joined Salem Baptist Church and became a faithful member to the end. While at Salem Baptist Church, he became the Chairman of the Deacon Board for many years.
John was a licensed Mortician and graduated from AAMI in New York. He was a very strong-willed, independent person who went out of his way to help others.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Candace M. Watson, and sons, Dawud (Keith), Matthew, and Keavney Watson. His mother, Anna Watson; grandchildren: Jade, Jaden, Saja, and Ayah. Also survived by a host of loving relatives and friends.
The Watson Mortuary Service will continue to provide service to families in need.
